Princess Viktoria of Prussia

Princess Victoria of Prussia, Friederike Amalia Wilhelmine full name Victoria of Prussia, VA ( born April 12, 1866 the New Palace in Potsdam, † November 13, 1929 in Bonn) was a member of the House of Hohenzollern and by marriage Princess of Schaumburg -Lippe. Life

Victoria was the second daughter of eight children of the Crown Prince Friedrich Wilhelm and later German Emperor Frederick III. (1831-1888) and his wife, the Princess Royal Victoria (1840-1901), known as Empress Frederick. She was a younger sister of Crown Prince Wilhelm, later German Emperor Wilhelm II and King of Prussia. She was named after her grandmother and godmother Queen Victoria. Within the family she was called Moretta. Princess Victoria grew up in Berlin, under the supervision of various educators and teachers in the imperial palace.

In 1883 she became engaged to the mother's consent to Prince Alexander of Battenberg, Prince of Bulgaria. But her grandfather, Kaiser Wilhelm I and Chancellor Otto von Bismarck were for political reasons against the betrothal and marriage banned.
