Professor Layton

Professor Layton is the name of an adventure game series for the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo 3DS. So far, six games and a movie were released and announced more movies in Japan. The games are being developed by Level 5 and published by Nintendo outside of Japan.

Games

Head Games

Each trilogy tells a temporal strand of the plot, where the first three parts of the end of the story telling and the other the history. Cutscenes and occasional scenes in the game are equipped with speech output from the second part also in German.

Crossover

In addition, two crossover published. On November 1, 2011 Layton kyōju Royale for mobile phones as a crossover with Dena Royale series, as well as at November 29, 2012 vs. Gyakuten Saiban Layton kyōju (レイトン 教授VS逆 転 裁判, Truth Be ~ ) for the Nintendo 3DS as a crossover with Capcom Ace Attorney ( Gyakuten Saiban Japanese ). A German version is on 28 March 2014, entitled Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney released.

Other

At the Tokyo Game Show on September 21, 2007, awarded for Nintendo DS as part of the Level -5 Premium Silver the demo game Layton kyōju to London no Kyūjitsu (レイトン 教授 と ロンドン の 休日).

On 28 October 2008, the mobile game Layton kyōju to Shikyo no Yakata (レイトン 教授 と 死鏡 の 館) appeared.

A free spinoff called Layton Brothers: Mystery Room (レイトン ブラザーズ·ミステリー ルーム) was published on 21 September 2012 for Apple iOS. An English version was followed on June 27, 2013 for the U.S. and the European Appstore. In addition, the game for Android released on 5 September 2013. Running of the Games

The aim of the game is to solve puzzles by solving the great mystery of the respective part. Here are the inhabitants of the village mystery, sometimes to solve next to go or to notes or other useful things to get (eg for mini games). For tips, you can also collect well-hidden hint coins. Basically the games begin with the journey to the place where the action takes place, or one who brings them on the track there. While you penetrate further into the history of the game, you come gradually to more secrets, which are also resolved with the story progresses. At the end of each part there is a big twist that no one expected.

Film

The game series was filmed as an anime called Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva, directed by Masakazu Kubo, who is known for the Pokémon films, and animated by the studios PA Works and OLM team Kamei. The film has its own plot and plays after the events of Call of the phantom. The title Diva is here spoken of Nana Mizuki.

The film had its premiere in Japan on December 19, 2009. A DVD and Blu -ray Disc release of the film took place on 22 October 2010 by the German DVD label Kazé. Super RTL showed the film on November 20, 2010 in the German premiere. Officially there was no theatrical release, but the film was November 14, 2010 in selected cinemas CinemaxX shown as part of the event series KlexXi Sause.

Among the games to Professor Layton created a novel series and two manga series.

The novel series of Kei Yanagihara appeared from the publisher Shogakukan and consists of three volumes Layton kyōju to Samayoeru Shiro (レイトン 教授 と さまよえる 城; December 18, 2008, ISBN 978-4-0928-9717-5 ), Layton kyōju to Kaijin God (レイトン 教授 と 怪人 ゴッド; December 16, 2009, ISBN 978-4-0928-9724-3 ) and Layton kyōju to Gen'ei no Mori (レイトン 教授 と 幻影 の 森, December 15, 2010, ISBN 978 - 4-0928-9729-8 ).

The first manga series by Naoki Sakura appeared in Japan from 2008 to 2012 in the magazines Bessatsu CoroCoro Comic Special CoroCoro Comic and the Japanese publisher Shogakukan. The story is designed as a hands-on book to be puzzled mainly for younger readers. From April 2011 to August 2013, the four volumes appeared as Professor Layton and his merry raids on German at Tokyopop.

The second manga Layton kyōju to Mayoi no Mori (レイトン 教授 と 迷いの森) comes from Terae Kichijo and appeared on 18 September 2009 in an anthology (ISBN 978-4-0914-0883-9 ) in Shogakukan.
