Function of the station Belgrade Center

The facilities of the Belgrade railway center make the center of the concept of rail-based transportation management in Belgrade, in the so-called Belgrade railway junction is where the train station is the junction point for the converging lines of different modes of transport here.

Seen Structurally, the station complex is a rider station at which the reception building is located on the railway tracks and operationally conceived as a through station separation station, which consists of two independent operating units:

Long-distance and regional train routes

Long-distance and regional trains, which run to Belgrade currently, still hold on Belgrade's main train station. With an opening of the long-distance transport can be expected only in 2011.

Regional traffic and commuter rail

Currently hold four lines of Beovoz at the station. The train station is not currently used for regional transport.

Structure, architecture and connectivity

The Prokop railway station is located in a river valley. Thus the railway underpass tunnel through the city of Belgrade. The track facilities of the station are not visible as a structure in the town, just above the level planned in the river terraces lobby will appear. The appearance of the planned over the finished concrete slab foyer has not yet been determined. The concrete slab with dimensions 400 × 100 meters covers an area of 40,000 square meters.

On the concrete slab a combined operational and commercial use of the foyer is planned. A majority of 120,000 meters square Rentals are provided for commercial use.

Connection of the station to the transport infrastructure

The station is located on the Corridor X and the E 10 highway It is an integral part of the railway corridor X and will be connected using three levels of public road infrastructure, as well as the public transport system in Belgrade.

Below the station plans for a connection to the line 2 of a planned Metro Belgrade are provided. On track level of the station via shuttle from the E 10 ( Bulevar Franse Desperea ) can be operated. The upper level of the train hall and the shopping malls to on the west side of the Ulica Ulica Knez Miloša and Vojvoda Putnika, on the east side of new road connections to Deligeradska ulica and carried the Bulevar Oslobođenja. On the south side of the upper level connection to the Bulevar Aleksandra Knez Karađorđevića is also provided.

In particular, the not yet existent links today on the west side of the station and the complex topographic situation between the Vračar and Dedinje hill high investment necessary for the connection of the station. In this example, a viaduct over the E 10 and a new road within the Serbian Clinical Centre of Bulevars Oslobođenjas needs to be built as an extension of Deligradska to Bulevar Aleksandra Knez Karađorđevića southwest.

The cost for the city for road access to the railway station are estimated for 2009 of 25 million euros.

History

Due to the cumbersome for the expansion of high-speed and high-speed lines small terminus station, the difficult topography of Belgrade with two major rivers and a hilly city and the low possibility to include the lying on the bank of the Sava station complex in modern public transport concepts ( tunneling for planned metro, high-speed connectivity necessary through station to liberate) and the city center of rail tracks, they sought since the late 1960s, a better position for the future, mainly through underground feeder imaginary through station.

The new Belgrade main station Beograd Centar (also known as per capita income ), was an integral part of the major project of the railway junction Belgrade, on March 11, 1971 of the City Council, after an extremely fierce debate by criticizing the feasibility of large-scale project according to the plans architect Mihail Maletin proved with the networking of the future metro and suburban rail network and the long-distance rail traffic, in retrospect as properly decided.

Realization

The realization was inaugurated by the then Lord Mayor Branko Pešić in March 1974 with the construction of the new New Belgrade railway bridge over the Sava. On 8 October 1977, with the groundbreaking of the construction of the new Belgrade main station Prokop, started as a transit station that should grant the rapid passage of trains to and from Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece over three tunnels and by the then planning to be released May 1, 1979 to the public. The planned with the construction of networks of railway, tram and metro in two key interchange stations and the complete conversion of the entire rail transport in Belgrade high costs of technically challenging project, the completion was delayed until today. After investment of 980 million euros by 2007, it is the most expensive project to date of urban infrastructure and the completion of lagging behind now by several decades ago.

At the construction site of the station is in stages, 1977-1980, has been worked 1984-1989 and 1996-1999. But while these phases all tunnels and bridges and platforms of the station Prokop as well as the underground station Vukov could be finished spomenik.

Resumption of construction work from 2008

It was only in March 2008 signed the Serbian Railways Serbian Railways and the construction company Energoprojekt a contract for the completion of the station, the multiple failed attempts to finish the station by means of private funding, terminated. Herein, it was noted that the construction work would begin two months after ratification by the government.

After the complex and several years of negotiations between the Serbian Railways and Energoprojekt the original contracts are confirmed with the company in 1996 and guarantees to the already introduced for the preparatory work for the construction of the station 100 million euros and the services provided in intermediate consumption services still disbursed funds amounting to 15 million euros, as well as additional investment of 230 million given again.

Through a lack of ratification of the Treaty by the Serbian government but this implementation of the agreement was delayed again. Only in a protocol of 17 October 2008 between the Ministry of Infrastructure, the mayor of Belgrade, the Director of the Serbian Railways and the presence of the Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, the agreement was ratified and the state of Serbia and the Belgrade City agreed, for the pay completion.

For 2009, agents of the City of Belgrade in the amount of 22 million euros for the transport infrastructure around the station as well as 35 million of the state for the station itself introduced.

The implementation of infrastructure projects to be completed within 18 months and the train station can technically be handed over to the railway according to the plans. A resumption of the original metro planning is still connected to the project.

The station Prokop will occupy an area of 40,000 square meters and over six platforms and railway tracks have ten. After completion of the S-Bahn, U -Bahn and rail traffic to a central rail network system are then integrated with several connecting. The new station also enables the connection of the leading long-distance rail transport to Romania, which runs until now only on the station Pančevo.
