The Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea (Korean: 대한민국 임시 정부 ) was founded on 11 April 1919 in Shanghai and organized the resistance against the Japanese occupation lasted since 1905.

History

Korean Liberation Army

Armed wing of the Provisional Government was the Korean Liberation Army ( Kor. 한국 광복군, Hanja韩国 光复 军, rev. Hanguk Gwangbokgun ), which was founded after moving to Chongqing on September 17, 1940. On December 9, 1941 was a declaration of war against Japan. 1942, a military agreement with China's armed forces has been closed, establishing joint operations were performed, followed by an agreement in 1943 with the British armed forces.
