Pruské

Pruské ( German Pruskau or Prußkau, Hungarian Poroszka - to 1902 Pruszka ) is a municipality in western Slovakia. It is located in Považie at the foot of the White Carpathian Mountains, 5 km from Ilava and 25 km from Trenčín.

The oldest record dates from 1244, when terra Pruska. The name (literally " Prussian " ) comes from the oldest settlers of the community who came from Silesia and Prussia. The village has a castle dating from the 16th century, a Franciscan church from the 17th century and a Roman Catholic church of the 18th century. In 1973 it came to the incorporation of Savčina - Podvažie and Bohunice (until 1999 ), 1979 were still Krivoklát and Vršatské Podhradie added. The latter were in 1990 again independent communities.

In addition to the main town of the municipality is divided into the districts Podvažie and Savčina (1973 incorporated as a double place Savčina - Podvažie ).
