Prusków

Pruskau (Polish Prusków ) is a town in Upper Silesia. Pruskau located in the municipality Zembowitz ( Zębowice ) in Oleski powiat ( district of Rosenberg OS) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship.

Geography

Pruskau is located three kilometers north of the parish seat Zembowitz, 12 kilometers southwest of the county town of Olesno (Rosenberg OS) and 32 kilometers northeast of the Opole voivodship.

Neighboring towns of Pruskau are in the east Schiedlisk ( Siedliska ) and Oschietzko ( Osiecko ), to the south and southwest Nowa Wies Zembowitz ( Neudorf ).

History

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 voted 93 voters to remain in Germany and 80 for Poland. Pruskau remained with the German Reich. 1933 lived 241 inhabitants in the village. On April 27, 1936, the town was renamed in Preußenau. 1939 Preußenau was incorporated into Föhrendorf. By 1945, the place was in the district of Rosenberg OS.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Prusków and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to powiat Oleski. On 23 October 2007, the German Pruskau was in the community Zembowitz, plays, introduced as a second official language. On 19 November 2008, the City also received the official German place names Pruskau.
