Pružina
Pružina (Hungarian Barossháza - to 1902 Pruzsina ) is a municipality in Slovakia.
Location
The community is located between the mountain ranges Strážovské hills and Súľovské Hills, on the banks of the creek Pružinka. It is 17 km away from the town of Považská Bystrica.
History
It was first mentioned in 1272 as Prusina and belonged to the manor of Castle Košeca.
In 1900 the town was renamed in honor of the place here in the Hungarian -born politician Gábor Baross in Barossháza.
Structure
The municipality counts next to the main town and the easternmost place Briestenné (1971 amalgamated ). The northerly location Ďurďové 1975-1990 was a part of the community. Also Mojtín was by 1863 a part of the community.
