Psary, Będzin County

Psary is a village located in powiat Będziński in Silesia, Poland. It is also the seat of the municipality of the same country.

Geography

Psary is located about 15 km north-east of Katowice and belongs to the industrial region Zagłębie Dąbrowskie ( German Dombrowa brazier ).

History

The first mention Psary dates from the late 12th century. In the 14th and 15th century the village belonged to the Duchy Siewierz until the duchy was acquired in 1443 by the Bishop of Krakow. 1790 Psary came to the Kingdom of Poland in 1795 came the village after the third partition of Poland to Prussia. Then in 1815 the village became part of Congress Poland. In the period between the world wars Psary was part of the community Łagiszy and belonged to the Province of Kielce.

The church today Psary was formed in 1973.

From 1975 to 1998, the village belonged to the Province of Katowice.

The community Psary extends over an area of ​​45.98 km ². From the surface, 73% is used for agriculture and 13 % is forested.

The municipality includes the Psary Schultz Offices ( sołectwo ) Brzękowice Górne Brzękowice - Wał, Dabie, Goląsza Dolna, Goląsza Gorna, Góra Siewierska, Grodkow, Malinowice, Preczów, Sarnów ( Psary ) and Strzyżowice.

Education

The municipality has two kindergartens ( przedszkole ), four primary schools ( szkoła podstawowa ) and a middle school ( gimnazjum ). Furthermore, there is in the community nor a library.
