Pterygium

Pterygium ( pterygium ), from the ancient Greek πτέρυξ / pteryx = wing referred to in medicine an acquired or congenital peculiarity, which is characterized by the formation of flight skin-like skin or mucosal folds at various body sites.

Particularly common to find the skin folds side of the neck between the mastoid process ( mastoid ) and the highest part of the shoulder blade ( acromion ). This is called pterygium colli. It is often found in people who have the Ullrich -Turner syndrome or Escobar syndrome.
