Queen Paul Rodgers

Queen Paul Rodgers was the existing 2004-2009 collaboration between the remaining members of the rock group Queen with guest vocalist Paul Rodgers. In May 2009, Rodgers announced his withdrawal from the project.

Occupation

The lineup consisted of the two Queen members Brian May (guitar and vocals) and Roger Taylor ( drums and vocals ) and singer Paul Rodgers.

Additional accompanist at concerts are live keyboard player Spike Edney Queens ( keyboards and vocals ), Danny Miranda ( bass and vocals ) and Jamie Moses (guitar and vocals).

Spike Edney (including SAS Band, Bob Geldof ) since 1984 Queens is keyboardist at live performances.

Jamie Moses was guitarist Brian May's solo line-up both on the Back to the Light Tour 1992/93 and during the "Another World " tour 1998. Moreover, he was also in the studio recording of May's solo album Another World with. In the 80s and 90s he worked with, among others, Paul Young, The Pretenders and Mike & the Mechanics.

Danny Miranda played bass in the band Blue Öyster Cult, as well as part of the Las Vegas edition of Queens Musical We Will Rock You.

Queen bassist John Deacon is "retired ", the band has not officially left and gave his consent for other concerts.

In May 2009, Paul Rodgers announced that he would no longer be the singer of the project from now on. He stood for the future, one-time actions such as charity concerts or temporary but still available.

Tour dates

For the first joint appearance by May, Taylor and Rodgers came on 11 November 2004 in London to mark Queen's accession to the British Music Hall of Fame that was sent by Channel 4 television. When comprehensive three songs live set Pino Palladino was heard on bass.

The leading through Europe, Dubai and South America, " The Cosmos Rocks Tour" started on 12 September 2008 in Kharkiv with an open-air concert in front of 350,000 spectators and lasted until 29 November 2008.

Publications

Studio recordings

To mark World AIDS Day published Queen Paul Rodgers on November 30, 2007, a studio version of Say It's Not True as a free download on their homepages. The vocal parts are from all three members of the band. The value written by Roger Taylor song was first performed in 2003, " 46664 " AIDS benefit concert as part of Nelson Mandela and later played at the Queen / Rodgers tours. On 31 December 2007, the song was released as a single. All proceeds from the sales are Mandela's AIDS charity project " 46664 " donated.

In August 2006, Brian May announced on its website that Queen Paul Rodgers would begin in October with studio recordings. In the fall of 2006, in February / March 2007 and in October / November 2007, there was in each case to multi-week recording sessions from May, Taylor and Rodgers. All three musicians played bass, which is not yet decided whether this bass recordings will be included on the final song versions.

In Germany, Switzerland and Austria, the album was released on 12 September 2008, in other European countries on 15 September. The title is The Cosmos Rocks.

Return of the Champions was recorded in Sheffield at the concert on 9 May 2005. Super Live in Japan shows the appearance on 27 October 2005 in Saitama.
