Queen Sirikit National Convention Center

The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center ( Thai: ศูนย์ ประชุม แห่ง ชาติ สิริ กิ ต; engl. Queen Sirikit [ National ] Convention Center ) is a modern convention and exhibition building in Bangkok, Thailand, which is designed in Thai architecture.

Location and facilities

The main hall of the convention center and the surrounding complex comprises approximately 35,000 m². The plenary hall can hold about 5,000 people.

The convention center is located in Khlong Toei on Ratchadapisek Road between Sukhumvit and Rama IV Road. Within walking distance to Ausstellungegelände there is a station of the metro Bangkok.

History

Originally the building for the 46th annual meeting of the World Bank / IMF was provided and was taken in 1989 in attack. It is named after Queen Sirikit and was opened by her together with King Bhumibol Adulyadej on 29 August 1991.
