Quillacollo Municipality

The municipality Quillacollo is a district in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location in near space

The municipality Quillacollo is one of five Municipalities of the province Quillacollo. It is bordered on the northwest by the province Ayopaya, on the west by the municipality of Vinto, on the southwest by the municipality of Sipe Sipe, in the southeast of the province of Cercado, on the east by the municipality of Colcapirhua and to the municipality of Tiquipaya and to the north by the province of Chapare.

The central location of the municipality is Quillacollo with 74 980 inhabitants in the southern part of the municipality. (2001)

Geography

The municipality Quillacollo is in the transition zone between the Andes mountain range, the Cordillera Central and the Bolivian lowlands.
