Quorthon

Quorthon († 2004) was a Swedish musician.

Quorthon founded in 1983 at the age of 17 years, the Swedish heavy metal band Bathory, whose head and songwriter he was. As such, applies Quorthon considered a pioneer for the black metal and Viking metal, its first six albums are regarded as milestones. For most of his albums, he had no fixed occupation. Quorthon was rare interviews, lived secluded from the metal scene and did not want to perform live. He also founded the band Quorthon, which, however, strongly differed from Bathory.

On 8 June 2004 announced the page Blabbermouth.net, Quorthon has died at the age of 39 years, and was found dead in his apartment in Stockholm on the day before, Thomas Forsberg gave as his real name, and wrote that he was the son of the Black- Mark -Production - holder The Boss; suspected cause of death as heart failure has been specified.
