Black Mark Productions

Black Mark Production is a Swedish extreme metal label, which was founded by Börje Forsberg.

History

The label was founded in 1991 by Börje Forsberg. Forsberg was previously 30 years in the music business operates. Black Mark Production was initially headquartered only in Berlin, but settled down later in Stockholm, Toronto and New York. The label now has its headquarters in the Villa Hammerheart in Bruzaholm, Sweden.

Initially only active in Europe, the label spreads even further out in the U.S. and Canada. Among the most famous bands of the label include Edge of Sanity, Cemetary, Lake of Tears, Morgana Lefay, Necrophobic, Nightingale, Bathory, Oz, Memento Mori and Fleshcrawl.

Especially the band Bathory was closely connected with this since the founding of the label; the assertion that the sole constant member Quorthon was the son of Börje Forsberg is controversial. The band released from the founding of Black Mark Production all record there, as well as the publications of the solo project Quorthon that "in terms of sales figures behind the Bathory albums left behind " and are mainly downloaded.
