Airdash

Airdash was a Finnish thrash metal band from Helsinki, which was founded in 1986 and in 1992 separated again. The band was among other things, the opening act for bands such as Suicidal Tendencies, and Anthrax.

History

The band was founded in 1986. The following year, the band released their first demo called Airdash. Their first single Without it / White Lies, the band released in 1988 with Kerberos Records. With this label, the band also released their debut album Thank God it's Monday in the same year. In the following year BMG released the album in Japan.

The follow-up album Hospital Hallucinations Take One was released in 1990 on Diablo Records. Before the next album Both Ends of the Path was published in 1991, which was released in Europe in Black Mark Production,, guitarist Markku " Nirri " Niiranen the band and was replaced by Tommy Dolivio. In 1992, the band split. Niiranen and guitarist Roope Sirén were later joined by the band Stone. Sirén and Stone bassist Janne Joutsenniemi later founded Suburban Tribe. Bassist Kirka Sainio was later heard on the demo The Cradle ( 1995) by Gandalf. Drummer Ykä " Agathon Frosteus " played in various bands such as Gloomy Grim, Walhalla, Soul Grind, Thy Serpent, Nomicon, Barathrum and Corporal Punishment.

Style

The band is considered one of the pioneers of Finnish thrash metal scene. The band initially played yet simple Thrash Metal, but at Both Ends of the Path was technically demanding. The music of this album was to settle between the Coroner and Dark Angel.
