Rabastens
Rabastens is a commune in the Tarn department in the Midi-Pyrénées region with 5083 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011). It lies in the district of Albi and is also capital of the canton Rabastens. The inhabitants are called Rabastinois (sing. ) or Rabastinoises ( Pl ).
Geography
Rabastens is located on the Tarn between Toulouse and Albi. Passing through the municipality Autoroute A68. The station Rabastens - Coufouleux ( in the neighboring municipality Coufouleux ) lies on the railway line Brive- Toulouse.
History
The Gallo- Roman settlement here was soon replaced by the Visigoths. Your fortification controlled here the way from Toulouse to Lyon.
