Rabenholz

Rabenholz (Danish: Ravnholt ) is a municipality in the district of Schleswig -Flensburg, in Schleswig- Holstein. The village is located south of Gelting road in a wooded area.

History

Rabenholz was first mentioned in 1462 as Rauen Holt ( Rabenwald ) and belonged to the estate Gelting, since 1710, however, for by this severed Good Pries wood, which today is located in the municipal area.

Good Pries wood

It is believed that the name of the estate originally means forest of Pris. In 1596 it was mentioned as a yard, about 200 years later, a village grew around the Grange.

The original manor house dates back to 1634 and was replaced by a neo-baroque building because of a fire in 1902. Good Pries wood is now privately owned and used for agriculture. The former farm buildings ( old dairy, farm worker Kate ) were reclassified into holiday homes. The mansion can not be visited.

Policy

Since the local elections of 2013, the voters Community AfWG has all nine seats in the municipal council.

Economy

The community is predominantly agricultural, but there are also some accommodations. On Good Pries wood is a wind power plant. There are some local small workshops and a horse farm and riding stables.
