Radek Hamr

Radek Hamr ( born June 15, 1974 in Litoměřice, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey player.

Career

Radek Hamr began his career as a hockey player in the youth of the HC Sparta Prague, for the first team he made his debut in the first league, the highest Czechoslovak league was in the 1991/92 season, where he remained point and impunity in two games. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1992 in the fourth round as a total of 73 players from the Ottawa Senators. For the Canadians, however, the defender completed in the next two years only eleven games in the National Hockey League, while the rest of the time in their farm team, the Prince Edward Iceland senator from the American Hockey League and the Fort Wayne Komets of the International Hockey League spent. Then in 1995 he returned back to the Czech Republic, where he received a contract with his former club HC Sparta Prague from the Extraliga. For the capital city of the links Sagittarius participated in the 1996/97 season also parallel the game operation of the European Hockey League in part, in which he scored a goal in ten games and had eight assists.

In the summer of 1997 Hamr changed for the first time in his career abroad in Europe, where he was obliged Västra Frölunda in the Swedish Elitserien. After he began the 1998/99 season in Frölunda, he left the club after just nine games and signed with their league rivals Färjestad BK, with which he was runner-up in the 2000 /01 season. Then he returned to HC Sparta Prague, the Czech champion, he was first in the 2001/ 02 season. Following this success Färjestad took the Czechs again under contract. After three final defeats Hamr could first win the Swedish Championship in season 2005/ 06. In the summer of 2006, the former NHL player went to the Kloten Flyers in the Swiss National League A. With the Flyers of the National players failed in the 2008/ 09 season in the playoff finals just with 3:4 victories in the best- of-seven - series on HC Davos. After a long injury break, the Flyers broke the contract with Hamr on in July 2011.

Internationally

For Hamr Czech Republic took part in the 2007 World Championships, where he finished in seventh place with his team.
