Radek Ťoupal

Radek Toupal ( born August 16, 1966 in Pisek, Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player. His younger brother Kamil Toupal is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Radek Toupal began his career as a hockey player with TJ Motor České Budějovice, for the seniors team, he was active in the first league, the highest Czechoslovak league 1982-1990. For the season 1990/91 the Centre moved within the first league for HC Dukla Trenčín. For Dukla he scored in 50 main round matches 22 goals and 54 templates. As top scorer and best original donor of the League, he was elected to the All- Star team the highest Czechoslovak league. For the season 199/91, he was engaged by HPK Hämeenlinna from the Finnish SM- liiga. With the team, he failed in the 1992/93 season only in the championship final.

The 1993/94 season spent Toupal at his former club HC České Budějovice in the after Czechoslovakia split inaugural Czech Extraliga. The 1994/95 season he began playing sports DJK Rosenheim in the German Ice Hockey League also newly established. For Bayern he scored in 20 games 21 scorer points, including six goals, before he again returned to the mid-season for HC České Budějovice. At his old club, he was team captain from 1997 to 1999. Finally, the two -time Olympian ran in the 2000/ 01 season for the Kapfenberg SV in the Austrian Hockey League, before he ended his career at the age of 35 years.

Since his career end Toupal operates a real estate company. During the 2003/ 04 season he returned to the HC České Budějovice back as a coach and managed the team in the relegation round, but the descent into the 1st Division could not prevent. In the season 2005/ 06 he was responsible for a junior team of the club as a youth coach.

Internationally

For Czechoslovakia Toupal took part in the U20 World Youth Championship in 1986. In addition, he was in his country's squad at the 1991 World Championships and the 1992 Winter Olympic Games in Albertville. At the Winter Games in 1992 he won the bronze medal with his team.

For the Czech Republic, he took part in the 1993 World Championships, where he won the bronze medal with his team, as well as the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer part. Overall Ťoupalin scored 79 international matches 13 goals.
