Rafael Hettsheimeir

Rafael Hettsheimeir ( born June 16, 1986 Araçatuba ) is a Brazilian professional basketball player. He plays the position of center.

Career

Rafael Hettsheimeir began his professional career in the 2003 season at COC / Ribeirão Preto. In his first year he won with his club the Campeonato Paulista ( state championship of São Paulo). In 2005, the 19 -year Hettsheimeir moved to Spain and signed for Akasvayu Girona, but played in 2005/ 06 on loan in the third division for CB Vic. In 2007, CB Estudiantes secured his services, but gave it to the second division Plus Pujol Lleida. In his two seasons with the Catalans, he went to an average of 5.2 rebounds and 11.1 points per game.

For the 2009/10 season Hettsheimeir signed for the second-rate also CAI Zaragoza, but was from November 2009 to February 2010 at Xacobeo Blu: sens awarded to replace the injured Drago Pašalić there. On November 15, he debuted with the Galicians in the ACB league, proved most convincing, played himself into the starting five, and brought it into eleven inserts to 9.2 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. At the end of the rental period, Hettsheimeir returned to Zaragoza, with whom he finished the season as champions of the second division and rose to the ACB league. His good performances he was able to confirm in the seasons 2010/11 and 2011/12 and has become one of the discoveries of the ACB league. In October 2012 Hettsheimeir signed for Spanish giants Real Madrid. With the Spanish giants he reached the final of the Euro League and won the championship. After the season Hettsheimeir joined Unicaja Málaga.

National

Rafael Hettsheimeir debuted in 2005 for the Brazilian national basketball team and won with it in the same year the gold medal at the basketball Americas Championship in the Dominican Republic. In 2011, he played with his country to the continental title, but lost the final against hosts Argentina with 75:80. Hettsheimeir brought it in the course of the tournament on 9.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. Due to a knee injury he was unable to attend the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
