Raffi Hovannisian

Raffi Hovannisian ( born November 20, 1959 in Fresno, United States) is an Armenian politician.

Life

His father is the historian Richard Hovannisian. 7 November 1991 to 16 October 1992, he was Foreign Minister of Armenia under President Levon Ter- Petrosyan. His successor in the office of the Armenian foreign minister Vahan Papazyan. The presidential election on February 18, 2013 he lost to the incumbent Serzh Sargsyan. He is Chairman of the Liberal Party Armenian Heritage. He is the founder of the organization Armenian Center for National and International Studies in Yerevan. Hovannisian is married, has five children and lives with his family in Yerevan.
