Rainbow Coffee House

The Rainbow Coffee House was a famous coffee house in London in Fleet Street. It was opened by James Farr in 1657, it was the second cafe in London.Farr was originally hairdresser.

James Farr took over some of the business ideas of Pasqua Rosee (1651-1656) who created the first coffee house in London in 1652. The Rainbow Coffee House was a meeting place for Masonic and French Huguenot refugees who use the café to exchange views.

Many Huguenots were the Rainbow Coffee House connected. However, there were also other nationalities as German and English visitors.
