Ramona Portwich

Ramona Port Wich ( born January 5, 1967 in Rostock) is a former German canoeist and canoe current trainer.

The Canoe Sprint athlete won at the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 the gold medal in four-man kayak ( with Birgit Schmidt, Anke Nothnagel and Heike Singer) about 500 m for the GDR at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992, the silver medal in the kayak four ( with Birgit Fischer, Katrin Borchert and Anke von Seck ) over 500 m, and the gold medal in four-man kayak ( with Birgit Fischer, Manuela Mucke and the gold medal in the double kayak ( with Anke von Seck ), and at the Olympic Games in Atlanta 1996 Anett Schuck ) about 500 m and the silver medal in the double kayak ( with Birgit Fischer) over 500 m.

In addition to Olympic glory was Ramona Portwich 13 - times world champion and is one of the most successful Kanutinnen at all. For her Olympic gold medal in Seoul in 1988 she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in gold.

In her playing career, she entered last to join the canoe club from Hannover Limmer. In 1997, she ended her career and has since worked as a trainer.
