Ranua

Ranua [ rɑnuɑ ] is a municipality in northern Finland with 4227 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Geography

Ranua located in the south of Lapland at the border with Northern Ostrobothnia landscape. The nearest major town 82 kilometers north of Rovaniemi. Ranua bordered to the north by the district of Rovaniemi, on the east by Posio, to the south Pudasjärvi and Ii and to the west by Simo and Tervola.

Population

Culture and sights

The main attraction of the village is the animal park opened in 1983 by Ranua. With 80,000 visitors a year, he is the most popular destination for families Lapland. Church
