Raoul II, Lord of Coucy
Raoul II de Coucy († February 8, 1250 in al - Mansura ) was a Lord of Coucy, Marle and La Fere. He was the eldest son of Enguerrand III. de Coucy († 1243 ) and his wife Marie de Montmirail.
He was married to Philippa of Dammartin († 1278/81 ), daughter of Count Simon of Dammartin. He had no children, which is why he succeeded his brother Enguerrand IV.
Raoul took on the sixth Crusade of King Louis IX. ( Saint Louis) in part to Egypt. He belonged to the vanguard under Count Robert of Artois and participated in the storming of the city of al - Mansura part in February 1250. In the street fighting against the warriors of Mamluk Raoul was killed.
