Ras Ajdir (Arabic رأس جدير, DMG Ra ʾ s Ǧadīr, and Ra's al - Dschadir ) is a Tunisian town on the Mediterranean Sea coast, on the border with Libya. The place is surrounded by desert. The nearest town on the Libyan side is the 60 km distant Zuwara.

History

Ras Ajdir was during the civil war in Libya in 2011 to an important collection point for fleeing Egyptian guest workers from Libya. Alone, 27 February 2011 arrived 12,000 refugees.
