Raymond Lefèvre

Raymond Lefèvre ( born November 20, 1929 in Calais, France, † 27 June 2008), Raymond Lefebvre, was a French orchestra leader and composer.

Life and work

Lefèvre began his musical career as a jazz pianist in a trio with Hubert Rostaing and Bobby Jaspar; He also played for Franck Pourcel et son Grand Orchestre Paul Mauriat and Orchestra. In 1956 he released a first album with Barclay. With a conservatory degree in piano and flute Lefevre was known for numerous film scores for films by Louis de Funès 1964-1982. Besides, he made a name for himself as a conductor. He began his career as a pianist in the orchestras of Franck Pourcel and Paul Mauriat. He played mostly " Easy Listening " but also instrumental versions of film themes and also modernized classical melodies. In Japan, his LPs were consistently listed after publication in the charts.

Lefèvre was four times head of the Euro Vision Orchestra.

He was married and the father of two children.
