Razih District

The district Razih (Arabic مديرية رازح ) is a district of the province Sa'da, Yemen. 2003, the district had 62.915 inhabitants. Since then, the numbers by the operation Scorched Earth ( عملية الأرض المحروقة ) are likely to have changed. The district has always been a transit area. The area was " both during the Turkish period, as fiercely fought over during the Civil War. "

Architecture

In the 20th century the district was still very traditional. The residents were wont open exchange and drove reinforced with neighboring regions trade. This was reflected in the architecture. The multi-storey houses were built primarily with a light gray, granite-like stone. On the lower floors only small air holes and loopholes were attached while larger windows and ornaments were present in the upper levels. Thus, they differed significantly on the design of Munabbih District.
