Ráztočno

Ráztočno ( until 1927 slovak " Rástočno "; Hungarian Rásztony - to 1907 Rásztocsnó ) is a municipality in western Slovakia, with 1247 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011) and is located in Okres Prievidza, part of the Trenčín Region.

Geography

The municipality is located in a branch of the valley Hornonitrianska kotlina under the mountains Žiar the river Handlovka, five kilometers from Handlová and 11 km away from Prievidza.

Belongs to this community of recreational and resort Remata four kilometers southeast of the capital.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1430 as Rozkochna writing and belonged to the manor the castle Bojnice, the church existed but in the 13th century. In the Middle Ages Ráztočno was the site of a toll gate on a trade route. In the 16th century it was the largest town in the Handlovka Valley. Among the most important sectors of the economy, agriculture and forestry belonged (2 water mills ) and some crafts. 1614 was a large part of the village by fire.

After the Second World War changed the character of the place, with a new cultural center, shopping center, library, post office and a house of mourning.
