Refuge Duc des Abruzzes à l'Oriondé

The Rifugio Duca degli Abruzzi all'Oriondé ( usually short Rifugio Duca degli Abruzzi ) is a refuge in the Aosta Valley in the Valais Alps. It lies at an altitude of 2802 m in the valley Valtournenche near the Oriondé said district within the municipality of Valtournenche. The lodge is run from early July to late September and offers at this time 40 climbers sleeps.

History

The hut was built in 1920. It was dedicated to Luigi Amedeo di Savoia -Aosta.

Rise

Are to be estimated approximately 2 ¼ hours for the whole, no problems having path from the parking lot at Breuil -Cervinia to Rifugio Duca degli Abruzzi all'Oriondé.

  • Transition to bivouac Bivaccho Benedetti ( 3510 m) at the Col Tournèche.
  • Transition to bivouac Bivaccho Bossi ( 3345 m) at Colle del Breuil.
