Regional rail

As rail transport ( regional rail, and commuter rail ) transport services, rail transport enterprise in the public transport (PT ) are referred to in Germany. The term includes the types of trains InterRegio Express, Regional-Express, Regional Bahn ( commuter train earlier ) and S -Bahn. These trains are also known as features of transport.

In Austria and Switzerland, there is no exact equivalent to the concept of passenger transport. The Swiss train types Regio Regio Express and S -Bahn are there to the regional traffic.

Legal foundations

Since the regionalization of 1996 no longer the federal government but some of the countries and partly municipal special-purpose associations are responsible for the organization of regional transport in Germany. These have come together under the umbrella organization Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft rail transport ( BAG- SPNV ). The task order support and fund the local transport services in collaboration with the local planning authorities (see list of regional planning authorities).

The General Railway Act ( AEG) " is used to ensure safe operation of the railway and an attractive transport services by rail and ensure the provision of an effective and undistorted competition on the rail in the provision of transport services and the operation of railroad infrastructure. Baden-Wurttemberg

Bavaria

The Bavarian Railway Company (BEG ) was founded in 1995 by the Free State of Bavaria. She plans and ordered for the State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology ( BStMWIVT ) the entire regional rail. The BStMWIVT is also supreme planning authority. Berlin and Brandenburg

The transport association Berlin -Brandenburg ( VBB) is the union of all the PTAs of public transport in Berlin and Brandenburg. It was founded in 1996 and has since 1999 a common fare for all member regions and cities. Partial find invitations to tender being together with other transport associations. Bremen

In the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, the authority of the Senator for Environment, Construction and Transport performs the task of regional rail task ownership. It is simultaneously the highest regional planning authority.

Hamburg

The Hamburg Transport Association, founded in 1965 ( HVV) was restructured in 1996 to a network of public transport PTAs. Shareholders are now the states of Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Schleswig -Holstein and the seven adjoining Hamburg (land ) districts of Harburg, Lüneburg, Stade, Lauenburg, Segeberg, Stormarn and Pinneberg. State Supreme Planning Authority is the Ministry of Urban Development and Environment. Currently no tenders will take place.

Hesse

In Hesse is in the district of Kassel North Hesse Transport Association ( NPT), the authority for the regional rail. The set by the country and the authorities Fulda, Göttingen, Kassel, Hersfeld -Rotenburg, Waldeck -Frankenberg and Werra- Meißner-Kreis conditions are implemented by the NPT. Mecklenburg -Western Pomerania

The authority for the regional rail transport is the state of Mecklenburg -Vorpommern. The highest regional planning authority is the Ministry of Energy, Transport and Regional Development. The transport company Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( VMV ) takes over the planning, organization and financing of the railway passenger. You ordered the local rail services in the following trains:

Lower Saxony

The state transport corporation Niedersachsen ( LNVG ) is regional rail authority for the state of Lower Saxony, unless the Hannover region and on the Association Greater Brunswick ( ZBG ) are responsible for their respective area. The Ministry of Economy, Labour and Transport is the supreme authority.

North Rhine -Westphalia

As of January 2008, the regional rail transport was reorganized in North Rhine -Westphalia and grouped into three umbrella organizations as the relevant PTAs.

The purpose of association transport Rhineland (ZV NVR) is the common umbrella organization for the Aachen Transport Association (GCU) and the transport association Rhein-Sieg (VRS ).
