Regueb
Regueb or Rgueb (Arabic الرقاب, DMG ar - Riqāb ) is a town in central Tunisia 38 km southeast of the town of Sidi Bouzid. It has about 8,000 inhabitants and is the capital of an eponymous Delegation with approximately 60,000 inhabitants.
Geography
Regueb is 90 kilometers from Sfax, 110 kilometers from Kairouan and 90 kilometers from Gafsa away.
History
During the riots in Tunisia 2010/2011 it came into Regueb violent clashes between protesters and security forces in which fatalities were lost. Partly it was surrounded by riot police.
Economy
The economy of Regueb based on agriculture, more than 90 % of soil for agricultural use. The olive oil, crops and fruit are produced.
