Release is David Knopfler's first album after leaving Dire Straits. It appeared in 1983 on the label Peach River Records, the re-release in 1997 and 2008 at Paris Original Music.
Reception
The website Allmusic.com praised " David Knopfler 's strong, sandpaper vocals and the gentle orchestral feel of some of the tracks" ( " Knopfler's strong voice like sandpaper and the gentle, orchestral feeling among some of the pieces "). The plate had a strong Dire Straits taste.
