Rembertów

Rembertów is a municipality in the Polish capital Warsaw. Between 1939 and 1957 Rembertów was an independent city and was then incorporated to Warsaw in the district of Praga Południe. Between 1994 and 2002 it formed a separate municipality called Warszawa - Rembertów. In the 1940s, was located in the district of a prison, the first by the German occupation forces ( military training area Rembertow ) and later by Soviet organizations was used (eg NKVD ).

The municipality covers an area of 19.30 km ² and had 21,893 inhabitants in 2004. It is sparsely populated, in the district, there are many designated recreation areas. More than 30% of the district are covered by forest, parts of which form the forest reserve Kawęczyn.
