Rems-Murr-Kreis

The Rems -Murr-Kreis is a 858.14 km ² large district in Baden- Württemberg, based in Waiblingen. It was created in 1973 from the former county of Waiblingen, large parts of the former county Backnang and a smaller part of the former district of Schwäbisch Gmünd. Geography

History

The Rems- Murr district was formed by the district reform on 1 January 1973. At that time the old district of Waiblingen with the largest part of the former district was Backnang ( License Plate BK) combined to form new Rems -Murr -Kreis.
