René Privat

René Privat ( born December 4, 1930 in Coux; † July 19, 1995 in Le Puy -en -Velay ) was a French cyclist.

René private was a professional racing car driver 1953 until 1962. During these years he won especially smaller bike race and criteria in its home country. In 1955 he won the Critérium International, 1956, he was second in the French championship and 1959 Third Street. One of his greatest successes was the victory at Milan - Sanremo in 1960.

Between 1953 and 1961 launched private eight times in the Tour de France. In 1956, he was ninth overall, 1957 he won two stages and wore the yellow jersey four days. In 1960 he decided a further stage in itself.
