Renée Colliard

Renée Colliard, after her marriage Renée Feraud ( born December 24, 1933, Geneva ) is a Swiss former ski racer. It was 1956 Olympic champion in slalom.

Colliard was a student of Pharmacy at the University of Geneva and a member of the Swiss women's ski club. Only shortly before the start of the Winter Olympics 1956 in Cortina d' Ampezzo they could qualify with a second place in the slalom race of SDS in Grindelwald for the Swiss Olympic team. In the Olympic slalom she succeeded then the sensation: With start number 1 they outclassed her rivals, graduated both passes with fastest time and finished with over three seconds ahead of Olympic champion. In the same year she was Swiss champion in slalom.

After the completion of her pharmacy studies she married in 1960 in Geneva and adopted her husband's surname. Two years later she moved to the ski resort Montana and opened a pharmacy there.
