Republican Party presidential primaries, 2012

This page lists the results of the primaries of the Republican Party for the presidential election of 2012 in the United States ( Republican Party presidential primaries ).

In the Democratic Party primary elections also took place. In some States John Wolfe was able to unite to about 41% of the votes. In West Virginia, even a prisoner won 40 % of votes. However, was the nomination by President Barack Obama to be safe. This occurred in many States without challengers.

Delegate

The allocation of delegates took place due to the code results in the states. Due to the complicated code guidelines in addition to the percentage of votes for primaries and caucuses ( conventions ) other factors determined the proportion of committed delegates on a candidate. These rules are different from state to state.

There were also non- concurred delegates (super delegates at Democrats or Republicans at RNC deputy ), usually incumbents and party officials - the assignment was made on the basis of endorsements ( non-binding statements of support ). It is also possible for uncommitted ( undecided ) to vote - which many delegates each results that were pledged to be indecisive.

For the Democrats the election results were obligated to delegates after at least four candidates. Since this had not been nominated by name partially before choosing their delegates, these delegates were not awarded by the returning officers, while the candidates have complained. The actions were dismissed because the parties may determine the choice rules themselves.
