Reza Yazdani

Career

Reza Yazdani began in 1995 as a teenager with the rings. He concentrated on the free style. He is a member of the sports club Reja Kohikhil and is coached since 1996 by M. Esmaelpour. He is at a height of 1.75 meters, a relatively small for his weight class wrestler who is it equipped with an irrepressible force.

In 2004, Reza Yazdani won his first medal at an international championship. He came at the Asian Junior Championship in Alma- Ata welterweight to 3rd place. In 2006 he took first at an international championship in the seniors, the World Championships in Guangzhou in part. He started there in the middleweight division. After a victory over the South Africans Coenraad de Villiers he lost there in his second fight against multiple world champion Saschid Saschidow from Russia, but fought his way then in the consolation round with wins over Travis Cross, Canada, Radoslaw Horbik, Poland and Taras Danko, Ukraine still a World Cup bronze medal. In December of the same year he won yet then at the Asian Games in Doha in the middleweight division before Sajurbek Sochijew from Uzbekistan.

In 2007, Reza Yazdani again won a World Cup bronze medal at the World Championships in Baku at middleweight. He triumphed over Vadim Lalijew, Armenia, Nauru Srapilewitsch Temresow, Azerbaijan, Roylandy Zuniga Herrera, Cuba and Travis Cross. In the semifinals, he lost to Georgi Ketojew from Russia and in the fight for the bronze medal defeating Joe E. Williams of the United States.

At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing Reza Yazdani disappointed, because he lost after winning a fight against Nauru Srapilewitsch Temresow. Since this did not reach the final, he was eliminated and only came on the 11th Place.

In the years 2009 and 2010, he was not used at the World Cup. In 2010 he then moved from the Central in the light heavyweight division. In this he won in May in New Delhi at the Asian Championships in November in Guangzhou at the Asian Games.

The greatest success in his career, Reza Yazdani then celebrated at the World Championship in Istanbul. He defeated there in the light heavyweight Eder Villanueva Gonzalez from Spain, Gergely Kiss of Hungary, Ruslan Scheikow from Belarus and Sinivie boltic from Nigeria. In the final he was then practically in the lion's den the Turkish hopefuls Serhat Balci opposite. He succeeded in doing this wrestler with 2-1 rounds (4:0, 0:1, 1:0 points) to defeat and to become world champion.

Reza Yazdani was also at the Olympic Games 2012 in London at the start. He defeated there Abdussalam Gadissow, Russia and Magomed Musaev, Kyrgyzstan, but then suffered in the fight against Valeri Andriizew a knee injury and lost. As this reached the final, he was able to wrestle in the consolation round in which he but lost to Chetag Gasjumow and therefore finished only fifth place.

After the disappointment of London Reza Yazdani was at the World Championships 2013 in Budapest again in excellent form and won with victories over Ivan Jankowski, Belarus, Manjot Sandhu, Canada, Dato Keraschwili, Georgia, Pawlo Oleinik, Ukraine and Chetag Gasjumow his second world title.
