Rhyu Si-min

Yu Si - min ( also listed as Rhyu Si - min, born July 28, 1959) is a South Korean politician, university professor and journalist. He was the 44th Minister of Health and Social Affairs from February 2006 to May 2007.

Life

After completion of Senior High School in Daegu, he visited the Seoul National University and was President of the Student Union. He fought against the military regime Chun Doo - hwan, was arrested and did his compulsory military service for 33 months. In 1988 he married in November his colleague Dr. Han Gyeong- hye and worked for two years as a consultant by Lee Hae Chan. Thereafter, the pair went to study further in Germany. Yu Si min has a degree in economics and a master's degree in economics at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. Before beginning his political career in 2002, he worked as a journalist at the Dong -a Ilbo and Hankyoreh publications. In the UNDP, he was a member of the Council of Representatives for the Deogyang district. Together with Lee Jung -hee and Sim Sang- jeong he leads 2012 the Korean United Progressive Party.
