Richard Kapuš

Richard Kapuš ( born February 9, 1973 in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia) is a Slovak professional ice hockey player of the Banská Bystrica is since 2011 when HC 05 in the Slovak Extraliga under contract.

Career

Richard Kapuš began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the young field of HC Slovan Bratislava. For the first team played the attacker from 1990 to 2000, first in the highest Czechoslovak league and Slovak Extraliga in the newly established after the division of Czechoslovakia in 1993. With Bratislava he won the 1998 and 2000 national championship, while he failed with his team in the 1998/99 season in the playoff finals on HC Košice. For the 2000/01 season the links Sagittarius joined the HC Ocelari Třinec from the Czech Extraliga, but returned an end of the season again to Bratislava back.

After his return to Slovakia Kapuš each won the championship again with HC Slovan Bratislava in 2002 and 2003. He then got a contract with Avangard Omsk HK from the Russian Super League, but the 2003/04 season ended in the Swedish Elitserien at Luleå HF. Omsk has been in the playoffs eventually master. For the 2004/ 05 season of international signed again in Bratislava, for he graduated from the point best game of his career. With a total of 66 scorer points, including 21 goals, he led his club to its fifth Slovak Championship.

Due to its good performance Kapuš Metallurg Novokuznetsk could make attention to themselves, for in the Russian Super League, he was on the ice from 2005 to 2007. In the 2007 /08 season the two -time Olympian was the last time so far with Bratislava Slovakian champion. In the same season he failed with his team at the European level already in the group stage of the IIHF European Champions Cup after the final group match against eventual winners HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk of Russia had been lost with 1:2 in extra time. From the 2008/ 09 season played Kapuš in the newly formed Kontinental Hockey League for his former club Metallurg Novokuznetsk before his contract was terminated in December 2009. In January 2010 Kapuš was obliged by HK Lada Togliatti. By the end of the season he was on the team in four games on the ice, where he remained point - and unpunished. In the 2010/11 season he played one more time for a local club HC Slovan Bratislava in the Extraliga, where he led the team as captain. For the following season, he joined the HC 05 Banská Bystrica.

Internationally

For Czechoslovakia Kapuš took part in the World Youth Championship 1993, where he finished in third place with his team. For Slovakia, he participated in the World Championships in 1999, 2000, 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007. In addition, he was in the squad of Slovakia at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and Torino 2006. In addition, the striker came with Slovakian Inline Hockey National Team at the World Championship 2008, which was held in his home town of Bratislava. In this he took his team to second place.
