Richard Stehlík

Richard Stehlík ( born June 22, 1984 in Skalica, Czechoslovakia) is a Slovak ice hockey player who is under contract with HC Vitkovice Steel in the Czech Extraliga since December 2012.

Career

Richard Stehlík began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of the HK 36 Skalica, for the first team, he was active in the Slovak Extraliga 2000-2002. Then played back per a year in the Canadian Junior Football League QMJHL for the Castors de Sherbrooke and after their relocation for their Nachfolgteam Lewiston MAINEiacs. During this period, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2003 in the third round than a total of 76 players from the Nashville Predators. First, however, he returned to the 2004/05 season in his native Slovakia, where he began the season with his hometown club from Skalica in the Extraliga before he finished the league competitors HC Dukla Trenčín.

In the summer of 2005 Stehlík received a contract with HC Sparta Prague in the Czech Extraliga. With the capital club, he was in 2005/ 06 and 2006/ 07 twice in the Czech seasons in a row champion. He subsequently transferred to the organization of its Draft Team Nashville Predators, where he began the following season in Nashville's farm team Milwaukee Admirals in the American Hockey League. After only 14 completed games he already decided to return to HC Sparta Prague, with whom he finished second in the IIHF European Champions Cup at European level. From 2008 to 2010, the Slovak HC Vitkovice Steel in the Czech Republic was on the ice. With the team he was in season 2009/10 runners-up. In the following season, the Links Sniper HC Kometa Brno followed, with the he succeeded only in relegation relegation.

For the 2011/12 season Stehlík Salavat Yulaev Ufa of the Kontinental Hockey League was committed. For the team, he scored four goals in 24 games and a template before his contract in late December 2011 was terminated prematurely. Beginning of January 2012 Stehlík was obliged Atlant Mytischtschi.

From July 2012, he stood by MODO Hockey under contract, before he returned in December of the same year for HC Vitkovice.

Internationally

For Slovakia Stehlík took at junior level at the U18 World Junior Championships in 2001 and 2002 and the U20 World Junior Championships in 2002, 2003 and 2004 in part. In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad at the World Championships in 2006 and 2007.
