Rick Green (ice hockey)

Rick Douglas Green ( born February 20, 1956 in Belleville, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player (defender) and coach, from 1976 to 1991 for the Washington Capitals, Montreal Canadiens, Detroit Red Wings and New York Islanders in the National Hockey League played.

Career

As a junior he played for the London Knights in the OHA. After an outstanding 1975/76 season in which he was elected to the All-Star team in the league, the Washington Capitals selected him with their top draft laws in the NHL Amateur Draft 1976. Also in the WHA Amateur Draft 1976 he was selected. The Quebec Nordiques acquired the rights in the first round to 10th place

Equal to the 1976/77 season he made ​​the jump to the NHL and has established itself as defensively oriented defenders. He gave in his six years with the Capitals defense of his team halt.
