The Riwaka River is a river in the northwest of the South Island of New Zealand. It has a length of 20 km and ends at the town of Riwaka, 10 km north of Motueka in Tasman Bay.
The valleys of the Riwaka and Takaka River nearby form a part of the pass, about the runs the only road between the Tasman Bay and Golden Bay.
Over part of its course, the river runs underground through a series of caves in the limestone. In the so-called Riwaka Resurgence The he comes back to the surface. This place is famous among tourists and cave divers, as the water is always crystal clear and cold even in the heat of high summer.
