Road, Movie is an Indian feature film from the year 2009.

Action

Vishnu working for his father in his hair oil business. But Vishnu dreams of more than take over his father's business. As the opportunity comes just as Vishnu to convert an old Chevrolet truck, built in 1942, in a far- distant port city. The truck is to be exhibited in a museum. Inside the truck there is a cinema projector and old film reels. The car was once a " Travelling Cinema". Vishnu makes his now through the desert to the coast.

At a rest stop he meets a little boy who sold him tea and also dreams of adventures away from home. The boy joins Vishnu. When the car goes on strike suddenly, Vishnu can not fix it. The boy sets off in search of help. He finds her in pudgy mechanic Om. Om want a fair and repaired the car. In return, he demanded to be taken. When the group of three is stopped by the police, they come to the aid of the cinema projectors. In the middle of the desert, the three old paid Bollywood films. The movies are now helping them onward journey through the desert.

When the water is running out, helps a young widow. The woman leads to water points and Vishni falls in love. But the girl comes from a different caste. A future for the two are only available in Vishnis cinema dreams. Vishnu finally has to be separated from the three new friends and reached the coast. With his motorcycle he rides his way back to his hometown and is now ready to rejoin at his father's business.

Background

The American- Indian co-production premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2009. Subsequently, the film was invited as the opening film of Generation 14plus section at the Berlinale 2010.

Criticism

The lexicon of the International film describes the film as " [k ] lassi cal road movie in a meditative style, faced in stunning shots with the country and people in many different forms and manifestations ". Due to the " film screenings, which are presented on the go again and again " compacted " the film itself for homage to the cinema ".
