Robeisy RamÃrez
Robeisy Eloy Ramirez Carrazana (* 20 December 1993 in Cienfuegos ) is a Cuban boxer in the flyweight. Ramírez won the Pan American Games in 2011 and the Olympic champion of the 2012 Olympics in London.
Career
Youth and Junior
In the field of youth ( U17) was Ramírez bronze medalist of the World Championships 2009 in Yerevan and in the same year Pan-American champion in Quito, each flyweight ( 52kg - ).
As a junior ( U19) in 2010, he was also Pan-American champion and also won the World Championships in Baku with a final win over Shiva Thapa, India ( 14:1 ). That same year, Ramírez took part in the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Singapore bearing, and could even customize them with a final win over Shiva Thapa ( 5-2 ) win.
Even 17 -year-old Ramírez 2010 first participated in the Cuban Championships and won the bronze medal at first. Since he prevailed in the internal selection in the course of this year he could start at the 2011 World Championships, where he claimed victories over Veli Mumin, Macedonia (AB 1 ) and Sudesh Manandhar, Nepal (RSC 2 ) in the second round on the eventual champion Mikhail Alojan, Russia, and met this fight lost ( 15:11 ). He finished this the 9th Place and thus qualified for the 2012 Olympics.
Before the start of the Olympic Games themselves Ramírez won the gold medal at the Pan American Games in 2011 and was first Cuban masters.
At the 2012 Olympic Games in London Ramírez reached with victories over Katsuaki Susa, Japan ( 19:7 ), Chatchai Butdee, Thailand ( 22:10 ), and the vice world champion Andrew Selby, Wales ( 16:11), the semi-finals, which he against Michael Conlon, Ireland ( 20:10), won. In the final he met the Vice World Champion 2009 Njambajaryn Tögstsogt, Mongolia, and could also opt for this fight ( 17:14 ), with which he won the Olympic gold medal in the flyweight.
