Rober Haddeciyan

Rober Haddeciyan or Haddedjian (Armenian Ռոպէր Հատտէճեան; * 1926 in Bakırkoy, Istanbul), officially Rober Haddeler, is a Turkish writer and dramatist of Armenian descent and since 1967 editor of Marmara (or Nor Marmara ), an Armenian-language daily newspaper in Istanbul. His newspaper is published six days a week ( except Sundays ) and has a circulation of 2,200 per issue.

Biography

Rober Haddeciyan was born the son of Avedis Haddeciyan and Siranush. He graduated in 1944 at the Armenian- mechitaristischen School Özel Lisesi Pangaltı Ermeni and received his doctoral degree at the Faculty of Literature and Philosophy at the University of Istanbul. Haddeciyan, who has worked as a journalist for the Marmara, took over the newspaper in 1967 and was its editor. His columns in the Nor Marmara are translated by his daughter-in Karolin Haddeler into Turkish and published in the weekly Turkish supplement. In addition, he has published so far 50 to 60 books. One of his most famous books is the novel Arasdagh ( Առաստաղ, ceiling), which was published in Turkish under the title Tavan.

Honors and Awards

In 2011, at the time of the 20th Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, Armenian President Haddeciyan recorded from the Mesrob - Maschdods Medal for his contribution to Armenian literature, theater and journalism.
