Robert Joseph Baker

Robert Joseph Baker ( born June 4, 1944 in Willard ) is the Bishop of Birmingham.

Life

The Bishop of Saint Augustine, Paul Francis Tanner, ordained him a priest on 21 March 1970.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 12 July 1999 as Bishop of Charleston. The Archbishop of Atlanta, John Francis Donoghue, donated to him on September 29th of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Gabriel Montalvo Higuera were co-consecrators, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States of America, and John Joseph Snyder, Bishop of Saint Augustine.

On 14 August 2007 he was appointed Bishop of Birmingham and introduced into the office on 2 October of the same year.
