Robert L. Saucy

Robert Lloyd Saucy ( born May 1, 1930 in Salem ( Oregon) ) is an American Baptist pastor and professor of systematic theology.

Life

Saucy visited the George Fox College (1949-1951) and the Westmont College ( 1951-53 ), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History. At the Dallas Theological Seminary, he made his theological master and doctorate (1958 and 1961 ) in the Department of Systematic Theology. While studying in Dallas ( Texas), he served part-time as a teacher at Southern Bible Training Institute and as a pastor in the Milligan Bible Church. He was ordained in the North American Baptist General Conference to the parish office.

1961 Saucy followed a call to the Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, where he was appointed professor in 1989 for distinguished of Systematic Theology. He is a longstanding member of the Evangelical Theological Society, as its president, he served in 1972. Saucy was one of only three scholars who cooperated on both the original edition of the New American Standard Bible (1971 ) as well as in the revision of 1995. Saucy was also from 1970 to 1977 member of the Rosemead Graduate School of Psychology, part of Biola University.

Saucy is married and has three children.
