Robert Troy

Robert Troy (* 1982 in Ballynacargy, County Westmeath ) is an Irish politician ( Fianna Fáil ) and since 2011 deputy in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish Parliament.

Troy was born in 1982 as the youngest of twelve children. He attended the National Emper school and then the St. Finian 's College. He then went to Dublin to work there. Five years later, he returned to become postmaster of Ballynacargy Post Office. In the 2004 municipal elections Troy was elected to the Westmeath County Council, thus becoming its youngest member. In June 2009, was his re-election.

In the elections of 31 Dáil Éireann Troy joined in February 2011 for the Fianna Fáil in the constituency of Longford - Westmeath. Although his party suffered heavy losses in these elections, he managed to get elected him. Troy thus retired from the Westmeath County Council.
